Morning Prayers

It's New Years and  Monique and I celebrated last night until 1:30am by unpacking and settling in.  We were jostled awake at 4:30am by loud music.  In my groggy state, I first thought it was the Auroville celebration we heard was going to happen at 5am.  Then, I realized it was Indian temple music, but still I thought, "Oh, they must do this specially on New Years."  Only slowly did the realization dawn on me that this was not going to be a unique event, but something we could look forward to every morning!  Happy New Year everyone!

Traveling to India

24 hour countdown

Well, actually we do leave tomorrow.  It's been a crazy few days/weeks/months, but we feel excited and ready for our grand adventure!  We have friends renting our upstairs and downstairs while we are away, so it's really had a feeling of moving as we store stuff and clean.  I can safely say our place is the cleanest it's been in 10 years!  One embarrassing moment was while cleaning under a dresser and we found a rent check that we must have lost and forgot to deposit - from 2007.  I guess it's too late to ask for another now, huh?

I will try to post a pre-departure photo soon, but for now, it's back to last-minute prep.
